World Book Day: 5th March

The worldwide celebration of authors, books and reading has finally arrived. World Book Day starts on the 5th March, located at the John Mackintosh Hall. Join millions of people for this much-loved event and take part in this year’s theme of ‘share a million stories’.

Josu de Solaun – 5th March

If books aren’t your thing, then a concert by the talented Josu de Solaun might tempt you. Hosted by The Gibraltar Philharmonic Society, the distinguished pianist will be performing at the Covent Ballroom on the 5th March. Tickets are selling for £20.

Gibraltar Snooker Open 2020

Snooker fan? Then the 2020 BetVictor Gibraltar Open would be perfect for you. The final event of the new BetVictor European Series will be running from the 11th – 15th March. Not to mention, a whopping £150,000 bonus prize for the top-ranking player across the four events. Tickets will be selling from just £20.

Drama Festival 2020

Who doesn’t love a bit of drama? From Monday 16th to Friday 20th March, you will be spoiled with up to 11 plays throughout the week at the John Mackintosh Hall. The finals night will include the top two or three plays and, of course, the winning play of the festival.

Craft and Collector’s Fair – 21st March

If you’re looking for something to do with your family or friends, then the Craft and Collector’s Fair would be a great way to spend your day. Located at St Andrews Church, Governors Parade, there will be a range of stalls for you to browse and a range of hand-crafted and collectible items to pick from. More importantly, don’t miss out on the delicious home-made snacks and cakes available throughout the day.

World Pool Masters 2020

The World Pool Masters has returned to Gibraltar, from the 26th – 29th March, and it’s bigger than ever! Playing to win the grand prize of £100,000, 24 of the greatest players across the world will be taking part in this event. For the ultimate experience, there is now a Premium Seating option, which includes seating and unlimited drinks whilst you watch the game.

Mad Hatter Party – 13th March

Alice in Wonderland, animals, and charity – could it get any better? The Mad Hatter Party is a fundraising event for animals in need, vet bills, fostering and food.  The fundraiser will be taking place on the 13th March, at the Customs Club in Waterport. The event will also be raising money for the Helpmelearn Africa charity, for the 2020 Ghana project. From raffles, prizes and a buffet, it’s too good to miss.

Miguel Poveda: “Intimate” – 6th March

The award-winning Spanish flamenco singer, Miguel Poveda, is arriving to Gibraltar for his ‘Intimate’ tour. The show is a classical flamenco formation, adapting classics into Poveda’s own flamenco format. The concert will be taking place at the Palace of Congresses and Exhibitions of La Linea de la Concepción, on the 6th March from 9.30pm.

Carnival of Palmones – 7th March

Why not invite your family and friends to a day at the Carnival of Palmones, located at Los Barrios, on the 7th March. From a XXII Potajada to enjoy at the start of the day to carnival performances and a costume contest, there will be lots of entertainment to choose from throughout the day. Not forgetting the little ones, there will also be a children’s parade that will also include a costume competition and a children’s animation party.

Champions of Humour – 20th – 21st March

If you’re in the mood for some comedy, we would recommend the Champions of Humour for an evening of laughter. The theatrical comedy is suited for all audiences to enjoy, located at the Florida Theatre, Algeciras. Tickets will be selling from 18 euros.

Merche: “Es Ahora” – 27th March

The talented Merche is returning to the Florida Municipal Theatre, Algeciras, to perform her latest album and tour, “It’s Now”. This will be the ninth studio album by the singer/songwriter, composed of 10 songs produced and written by herself. Tickets are selling from 22 euros, and the concert will take place on the 27th March, at 8.30pm.
